To stimulate the quality of teaching self evaluation and accountability in the higher technical education of chemical engineering , the department will prepare the students for professional career by interaction with industries , academia and professional experts. The department promotes excellence in teaching, research , collaborative activities and positive contribution to the nation. The implementation may be made as follows :
	Planned	Steps Initiated
·	To elevate the department to the level of National premier institutions.	Identifying the difficulties of students and guiding them by giving suitable advices to over come. Created awareness among the students on the latest development in the Chemical Engineering. Incorporated the latest teaching aids to achieve academic excellence.
·	To upgrade the facilities in the department to meet the needs of surrounding industries.	Procured latest instruments like Spray Drier, , Fermenter, Autoclave, Fluidized bed reactor , PID controller, RTD apparatus, Control valve, Load cell, Non interacting and Non interacting tanks, Reynold’s apparatus, Venturimeter, orifice meter, Pitot tube, for flow rate measurement V- notch , Recatangular notch, Fluidized bed reactor , Packed bed reactor etc. Also to help the neighbouring industries we have installed a solvent purification unit of 50 litres capacity.
·	To develop new processes and conduct Pilot Plant studies so as to give exposures to industrial environment.	We have designed and fabricated some pilot plant equipments such as Crystallizer, Rotary drier, Rotary Disc contactor, Bubble cap column, Packed Distillation Column, Spray Column, Auto Clave, Centrifuge, Biodiesel plant and Solvent purification plant. Encouraging the students to take up new topics to study and conduct experiments using the available facilities.
·	To improve the rating of the department by presenting and publishing more number of papers in reputed national and international journals	Faculty and students are encouraged to present papers at national and international symposium. Cash awards are given to people who published papers in reputed journals and text books through well known publishers. We are encouraging PG, PhD and UG students to take up experimental projects in the recent trends in Chemical Engineering. Each faculty is provided with Rs. 3000/- per annum to procure books in the field of their interest. We are having computer centre with 30 computers connected to internet to download the developments taking place in Chemical Engineering field.
·	To achieve 100% placement	We are training the students in soft skills such as organizing capabilities, team spirit and leadership qualities, communication skills and personality development. Arranging invited special lectures by subject experts in the field. Arranging Industry – Institute Interaction by calling eminent people from industries and institutes. Updating the labs by obtaining funds from various agencies such as AICTE, UGC, DST, DBT and Management. Alumni meet is being arranged twice in a year and their suggestions and assistance are utilized to improve the placement.
